JoAnne Griffin, DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) is the training director and owner of Camera One Canine Actors in San Diego, California. She can help prepare your dog for party tricks all the way to AKC (American Kennel Club) obedience competition!
Obedience training is very important for dogs working in media projects, as dogs who cannot reliably take handler direction cannot be used in time-critical filming. Trick training also builds an important repertoire of behaviors that can be used in media projects ranging from movies and TV commercials to print jobs.
JoAnne Griffin DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) is the Owner and Training Director of Camera One CANINE ACTORS and has been training dogs for over 25 years. JoAnne provides quality training for dogs in competition obedience, animal acting, tricks as well as being a professional animal talent agent. She has trained dogs for Television shows such as The David Letterman Show and “Silk Stalkings” and for Feature Films such as “Very Bad Things” starring Cameron Diaz and Christian Slater. She has trained the dogs for TV Commercials such as Geico, Iams Dog Food and PetsMart as well as provided the dogs for advertising for Chevrolet and Bayer Corp.

JoAnne has trained a multitude of different breeds and her students have achieved OTCH's, UDs, UDXs, Highest Scoring Dog in Trial awards, High Combined Score awards in addition to National rankings, National placements and Dog World awards.
She has completed veterinary course work in Canine Physical Rehabilitation with Dr. Darryl Millis M.S, DVM, ACVS, DACVSMR, CCRP at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and completed Veterinary rotations in Canine Sports Medicine with Dr. Robert Gillette MSE, DVM, DACVSMR at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has also conducted equine lameness and bone research with Dr. Robert Bowker VMD, PhD at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, JoAnne worked with Dr. Keith Richter DACVIM (SAIM) as a criticial care veterinary technician at the prestigious Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
JoAnne started riding horses when she was 7 years old and also has experience with hunter/jumpers, English, Western, hackney, 3-gaited, and cart horses. Having a menagerie of animals from birth, JoAnne has a deep bond and almost a 6th sense with animals making her a natural trainer. She considers it a true gift and cherishes this connection that she has always had with animals.
JoAnne has a Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Medicine and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree (DVM) from Michigan State University.
